Penryhncoch Fixture and Airbus Ground Switch

We wish to inform everyone that our scheduled Ardal Northern East home fixture this weekend (27/1/24) against Builth Wells has been postponed, and we will now be hosting league leaders Penryhncoch instead. This switch arises due to Builth Wells' participation in the FAW Amateur Trophy.

Additionally, we must communicate another significant change for this week's highly anticipated match. The game is now scheduled to take place on the 3G pitch at Hollingsworth Group Stadium, the home of Cymru North outfit Airbus UK Broughton (CH4 0DR).

This switch to a 3G pitch ensures the match proceeds as expected and affords the Clywedog Park pitch the opportunity to recuperate from the challenging conditions experienced during last weekend's 3-0 victory over Llansantffraid. Considering the forecast of continued poor weather and given that we are already three games behind some of our opponents the decision was made to secure an alternative venue. We would like to thank Jonathan Williams and Michael Mayfield of Airbus for their invaluable assistance in helping us facilitate this important fixture and supporting our football club. We look forward to experiencing what the outstanding facilities at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium has to offer.

It is with a growing sense of frustration that we express our disappointment about the ongoing unavailability of the 3G pitch at the Rock within our community, compounded by the persistent reality that our football club is not welcomed there and hasn’t been since March 2022. This frustration is heightened given that clubs from the Wrexham area continue to be warmly received in Cefn Mawr, while Cefn Albion remains forced to host home games miles away from the community it strives to serve.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support. This upcoming fixture holds significant importance as we face the league leaders, with our aim to extend our unbeaten streak to four games since the beginning of the year. Despite the distance from our home ground, the team relies on your continued support. Please get behind the lads!

Rest assured; our dedicated volunteers are persistently working hard to bring Cefn Albion Football Club back to Cefn Mawr! Your support remains integral to our journey, and we are grateful for your understanding.
