Matchday Parking – Support the Team, Respect the Community

Cefn Albion Football Club is proud to have returned home to Cefn Mawr (June 2025) following three extremely difficult years in exile. The backing we’ve received from the local community has been exceptional, and we are sincerely grateful to everyone who has supported the team since our return.

As attendance continues to grow at The MUGA, we are aware of concerns raised by local residents regarding parking on matchdays. The club continues to be reminded of these concerns by Cefn Mawr Community Council via email communication. We are doing everything we can to work respectfully and collaboratively

Although there are currently no parking restrictions or yellow lines on the surrounding roads, we respectfully ask all visitors to park considerately and avoid blocking pavements, driveways, or access routes. Our volunteers are there to assist and advise and must never be placed in a vulnerable or confrontational position. Your cooperation is essential in helping us maintain a safe, respectful, and enjoyable matchday environment for everyone.

What the Club is Doing:
To help minimise disruption and comply with our responsibilities under the Service Level Agreement, the club has taken and will continue to take the following actions:

  • Laid out yellow bollards along the pavement from The MUGA to the library, including the stretch between the railway bridge and the ground, to discourage unsafe roadside parking
  • Coned off the road outside the ground (from the railway bridge to the school entrance) 30 minutes before kick-off and after the final whistle, in line with SLA requirements
  • Published regular social media reminders encouraging respectful parking and promoting alternative parking areas (as advised by the Cefn Mawr Community Council)
  • Created a dedicated parking guidance page on the club’s official website to inform visitors ahead of matchdays
  • Maintained open communication with the council and residents to address concerns and work on long-term solutions

Parking Guidance:

  • Tesco Car Park (Upper End) – Oxford St, Cefn Mawr, Wrexham LL14 3BF Approx. 2-minute walk to The MUGA

  • George Edwards Hall (rear car park up to 28 parking spaces) – Cefn Mawr, Wrexham LL14 3AE Approx. 3-minute walk to The MUGA

  • Whimborne Gate Car Park – All coaches must use this free car park, located a short distance from the ground. Approx. 13 minute walk to The MUGA

Please Avoid:

  • Parking along the roadside between the railway bridge and the school entrance – this area will be coned off before and after matches
  • Parking on pavements, mounting kerbs, or blocking driveways – this causes unnecessary disruption and poses safety risks for local residents
  • Using residential-only bays or restricted access areas
  • Parking and blocking emergency service routes to the car park and playing field

MUGA Car Park Access:

  • The main car park at The MUGA is strictly reserved for players and match officials only.
  • If you live locally, we kindly encourage you to walk to the ground where possible to ease congestion.

We remain committed to being a good neighbour and maintaining a positive relationship with the community and the Cefn Mawr Community Council. Thank you for your understanding and continued support of Cefn Albion Football Club, both on and off the pitch.
