Cefn Albion Football club has two senior teams. A first-team who are members of the Ardal Northeast League and a Reserve team who are members of the FAW Reserve League North East. At present the first play their home games at Clywedog Park and the reserves play at The Muga.
On the 4t April 2022, Cefn Albion Football Club formally announced that an agreement had been reached with Brickfield Rangers Football Club (BRFC) and accepted by the Ardal Northern East League/Football Association of Wales (FAW) for CAFC to complete the remainder of its 2021/22 home league fixtures at Clywedog Park and also the entirety of the 2022/23 season at the Wrexham based venue. This new agreement means that our time and contract at the Rock, the home of Cefn Druids Football Club (CDFC) terminated with immediate effect. The Muga (multi use games area) football pitch is situated on Plas Kynaston Lane in Cefn Mawr and sits directly below the new Tesco supermarket. The pitch is used by both our senior teams and is renowned for the ‘Muga bank’ which is where all the supporters tend to take their spot to observe the game. The Muga is managed and maintained by maintained by The War Memorial Trust, they are responsible for things such as the grass cutting, changing rooms, and repairs etc. The complex is really popular with a number of teams and schools all taking advantage of what it has to offer, the Trust have appointed a member of the board to be the administrator for the Muga. Whenever the reserves are unable to hire the Muga they use Ty Mawr Football field as their home pitch instead. Ty Mawr Football field is situated on Cae-Gwilym Lane in Cefn Mawr and is right next to the well-known Ty Mawr Country Park. On match days Jane Williams from The Little Kitchen normally opens the small shop so you can grab yourself a hot drink and bite to eat. Basic Directions Coming from the direction of Wrexham on the A483, follow the main road through Rhosymedre and Newbridge then turn down the next right go under the railway bridge.
