Our local neighbours and league one outfit Rhos Aelwyd were the visitors and our first ever local derby at the Rock. Some great football at times tonight especially second half when the Albion stepped it up a gear or two.
A tight first half but the lads went in 2-1 thanks to goals from 18 yo Andrew Jones and 16 year old new signing Callum Taylor who was excellent up top. Rhos equalised early on in the second half but Cefn who introduced Nic Jones and Dan Cox half time began to dominate proceedings. New signings Conner Kendrick & Jimmy Jones were causing Rhos problems all night and both helped themselves to a brace. Nic Jones scored the 7th from a good header.
The most encouraging part tonight was watching the youngsters and how well they are adapting and linking together throughout the team. Dion Gibbins (18) and Kien Morris started in CM and were excellent, showing signs of what is going to come. New signing Aaron Holman is settling well with a solid performance at the back alongside player manager Sean Jones. Tonight we were also without senior players Alex & Nathan Williams and captain Paul Griffiths. Very encouraging and good competition in the ranks.
