Today we traveled to welsh Cheshire League one outfit Rainhill Town for another preseason friendly. Due to several players away on holiday we were forced to take a mixture of first team and reserve players for the game.
In addition to numerous eighteen year old's this meant that today's squad also included three sixteen year olds and a seventeen year old but you wouldn't have noticed. The lads started brightly and were rewarded when 17year old Kien Morris, who is having an excellent preseason, calmly slotted home to put the Albion 1 nil to the good. The home side come back into the game and responded well by scoring two quick goals to take a 2-1 lead. Their lead didn’t last long when Oli Davies lashed home from close range to equalise. Sean Jones put the Albion 3-2 up with a committed goal and that’s how it finished at HT. Changes second half introduced all three 16 year old's to give them their chance and all three were excellent. However, there were no more goals to report, the game turned a bit scrappy but we comfortably seen it out. A tidy performance on 3G which will only give the management more headaches come August 11th.
17 year old Kien Morris was outstanding and now has two goals in preseason.
