Today, many members of our club—including players, management, committee members, and supporters—gathered at the Cefn Mawr Memorial Cenotaph to honour all those who have fallen in conflicts since the end of World War I on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, 1918.
On a bright autumn day, it was nice to see such a strong turnout, with many joining to pay their respects to our fallen heroes. Cefn Mawr is a close-knit community, and the turnout at the service was a true testament to our unity. The service included moving readings from local residents and pupils from the village schools, adding a personal touch to this moment of remembrance. It was fantastic to see so many youngsters in attendance.
We were proud to attend from a footballing perspective, and our club captain, Nathan Williams, respectfully laid a poppy wreath at the memorial on behalf of Cefn Albion. We are honoured to represent our community and to pay tribute on this important day. Well done to Cefn Community Council for delivering another excellent service.
Last weekend before our match against Llanfair United at Clywedog Park, we also observed a minute’s silence in remembrance of those who sacrificed their lives.
