In preparation for the new 2018/19 WNLPD season, our first team have some fantastic friendlies lined up. The management have recognised the importance of preparing right for another tough season ahead but they believe that the friendlies arranged will provide all the necessary challenges to test current and new players ready for the new season.
14/07/18 – Welshpool Town (HOME)
KO 14:30 at the Rock (Saturday)
Division: SPAR mid Wales Football League Division 1 (Equivalent to the WNLPD)

We open our friendly schedule by welcoming SPAR mid Wales Division One outfit Welshpool town to the 3G at the rock. Welshpool have experienced some tough times in recent years but have turned it around this year by finishing league runners-up and also reaching the league cup final, which by their own admission has been a fantastic season.
19/07/18 – Flint Town United (HOME)
KO 14:30 at the Rock (Saturday)
Division: Huws Gray Cymru Alliance (One division higher than the WNLPD)

The next big challenge for the lads comes in the form of well-established Cymru Alliance outfit Flint Town United who we will welcome to the Rock on a Thursday evening. Flint managed a mid-table finish in 2017/18 but proved their qualities by lifting the league cup following a win over Gresford. It will be a big test for the lads
24/07/18 – Llandyrnog United (HOME)
KO 18:30 at the Rock (Friday Night)
Division: Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division 1 (Equivalent to the WNLPD)
Division Link: http://www.welshallianceleague.co.uk/match-info/tables
Club Link: http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/llandyrnogunitedfootballclub
Welsh Alliance outfit Llandrynog United are the next visitors to the Rock and will provide another stern test for the team. Llandrynog finished mid table last season but having played Conwy Borough, who were crowed Welsh Alliance league champions of the same division we appreciate that it will be a good test for the team.
28/07/18 – Prestatyn Sports (AWAY)
KO 14:30 (Saturday)
Location: LL19 9YP
Division: Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division 1 (Equivalent to the WNLPD)
Division Link: http://www.welshallianceleague.co.uk/match-info/tables
Club Link: http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/prestatynsportsfootballclub/
Prestatyn Sports having made significant progress in recent years and have claimed numerous championship medals along their way and having just stormed their way to the Welsh Alliance Division 2 title they are a team that mean business. Over the course of last season, Sports competed against many teams from higher divisions in various domestic cup competitions and held their own so we know that this will be a difficult fixture for the team as we prepare.
01/08/18 – Cefn Druids (The Rock)
KO TBC at the Rock (Wednesday Night)
Division: Welsh Premier League (Two divisions higher than the WNLPD)
Division Link: http://www.wpl.cymru/
Club Link: https://www.cefndruidsafc.co.uk/
We are delighted that we were able to arrange the traditional pre-season friendly against our good friends and Welsh Premier League neighbours Cefn Druids. We appreciate that with their European qualification the ancients are going to have a busy schedule but alike last season the both clubs will leverage this fixture as a platform to raise money that will be kindly donated to a local cause. In terms of playing level there is a gulf between the two clubs but it’s one for the lads to work hard and enjoy in front of a big crown. Any improvement on last season 4-0 loss will be an achievement. The fixture will take place on a Wednesday evening with KO to be confirmed.
04/08/18 – FREE DATE (AWAY)
We have a free date this weekend so any teams that are interested in hosting us please get in touch. It has to be away unfortunately.
10/08/18 – Connahs Quay Nomads u19s/Scholars A (AWAY)
KO 20:15 at the Quay 3G (FRIDAY NIGHT)
Location http://www.thequay3g.co.uk/
Division: ACADAMY LEAGUE
Club Link: http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/connahsquaynomadsacademy/
The first team round up their pre-season preparations with a trip to Welsh Premier league Connahs Quay U19’s Scholars. Iain Bennett, the new head of Nomads’ scholarship program has compiled a set of sixteen fixtures that will see their new intake of scholars compete against senior Cymru Alliance, Welsh Alliance and Welsh National League teams. All their players have already done their fitness tests and are being distributed their four-week off-season program next Monday 4th June. With their most detailed and planned preseason program to date it will ensure that it will be a difficult test for our lads who will play against a team that will be young, fit and hoping to impress.
