Remembrance Day Wreath

Today numerous members of our football club which included players, management, committee and supporters congregated at the Cefn Mawr Memorial Cenotaph to pay our respects to all the people who have fallen during all Wars since World War One ended, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918.
On a damp cold winters day it was an incredible turn out with hundreds gathering to pay their respects to our fallen heroes. We all know that Cefn Mawr is a tight knit community but the attendance at the service epitomises the togetherness between everyone within the village. It was a fitting service which involved readings from local people and pupils from all the local schools which gave it a real community feel whilst importantly remembering those who lost their lives during battle.
The football club purchased a poppy wreath which our club captain Paul Muncher Griffiths kindly laid at the on the memorial during the service. We are proud to be based within such a fantastic community.
Also, during yesterdays derby game versus Penycae at the Rock we held a minutes silence to remember the fallen.
