Cefn Albion Football Club is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the FAW Tier 2 club license for the 2022/23 season. The decision was made after an independent Club Licensing Appeals Body met on Thursday 19th May 2022.
Despite promotion to Tier 2 for Cefn Albion Football Club (CAFC) no longer a possibility an application for the license was still submitted to the FAW before the deadline date (30th April 2022) as we prepared for any outcome. However, on 6th May 2022, the club received confirmation from the FAW confirming that it had been refused the Tier 2 License. The refusal reason was minor and we were always confident that with the help of Brickfield Rangers and Ysgol Clywedog we would pass the criteria and be issued with a club license required to play at that level.
We are still awaiting confirmation of the appeal submitted for the Tier 3 club license which is required to represent in the Ardal Northern East division. We are advised that this is now a formality as a result of a successful Tier 2 appeal.
Again, we would like to place on record our thanks to Brickfield Rangers and Ysgol Clywedog who have been very helpful throughout the process and our fantastic hard-working committee for getting everything done!. Thank you to the FAW and the Club Licensing Appeals body, Cefn Albion has lots of plans for the new season so we can now turn our focus to ensure that we are ready for what lies ahead.
Thank you
