The club would like to announce that following the FAW’s decision to deduct fellow Welsh National League outfit Rhostyllen with 54 points, due to a breach of rule 68, the first team have been officially confirmed as welsh national league runners up on point per game basis.
In addition, after netting 21 league goals, we can confirm that Alex Williams has been officially awarded with the leagues top goal scorer award. Unfortunately for Rhostyllen the player involved with registration mix up was the current WNL Premier Divisions leading scorer when the season was curtailed in March due to COVID-19.
Although this news comes under circumstances that we would not wish for it further cements a fantastic season that the team were having and Alex in particular. The efforts of the players and management are recognised by the committee and we would like to say a huge well done and thank you for your commitment.
Awards will be presented during the end of the season do (whenever that will be!)
Thankfully, despite the heavy points deduction Rhostyllen were eventually issued with a tier 3 license and they will compete in the North West league for the 2020/21 season. It’s the very least they deserve after all the hard work that’s happened at their club and a brilliant 2019/20 season on the pitch. We would like to wish them all the very best for the new season! Good luck!
