Frank Henry Williams
A major in the Royal Engineers, was called up to build and maintain supply lines behind the trenches dating the First World War. Putting to use the knowledge and skills he had gained whilst serving in the military, he returned to operate a number of quarries within North Wales and Shropshire. This led to the creation of the surfacing division of the company; involved in surfacing work at many army camps and airfields throughout the North West during the Second World War.
